Every hirer must have public liability insurance of at least $5 million with an insurer licenced in Australia, which shall include the following extensions:
a) Liability for loss of, or damage to, SCAS property;
b) Indemnity for claims made against SCAS arising out of the negligence of the hirer.
A copy of the certificate of currency must be included with the application form. No Insurance = No Hire.
We have a facility to arrange public liability insurance for personal hirers wishing to hire facilities for personal use (private personal function, e.g. birthday party, wedding, reception or other family event) at a cost of $25 per day in addition to the hire fees.
Hastings Council have approved (2008/0002) under Section 68, Local Government Act 1993 the School Hall as a "Place of Public Entertainment" with a maximum no of persons Licenced up to 250 (seating up to 200 is available).
Depending on the nature of the organisation or body hiring the facility, differing charges apply. Pricing has been tentatively set as follows:
Recurrent bookings outside of school hours are most welcome.
The Hiring agreement/Tax Invoice will include the following conditions:
1. To pay the hiring charge in the manner and time agreed.
2. To leave the facility in a satisfactory and clean condition, and remove all rubbish.
3. Not to remove anything owned by the school or parish from the facility.
4. To lift (not drag) anything moved within the facility and to return to its original position.
5. Not to use any exhibits or decorations in the facility without the prior agreement of the Business Manager or Principal.
6. To do no damage to the facility, its furniture and furnishings, accessories or environs and to report to the school any loss or damage to property and to pay for its repair or replacement.
7. Not to permit smoking within the facility or on the school grounds.
8. To switch off all lights, air conditioners, sound and AV system and other equipment before vacating the facility.
9. To secure windows and doors on vacating the facility.
10. To return keys to the school office during business hours.
11. To keep in effect and in force public liability insurance cover as outlined above.
12. Evening function should conclude by 12 midnight with premises vacated by 1:00am
13. During the period of hire, to create no nuisance either by way of noise or otherwise so as to inconvenience adjoining properties.
14. Not to carry out in or about the facility any illegal activity.
15. Not to move pianos without prior agreement of the Head of Music Facility.
16. Not to permit barrels or drums for the storage of ice in the facility.
17. Not to sell liquor on the premises.
18. The volume of amplified sound/music is to be kept to acceptable levels in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act. All music must be turned down by 11:pm and cease totally by 12midnight.
