Gondwanna Voices
Five of our students auditioned for and have been accepted into one of Australia’s most prestigious choirs. Gondwanna Voices is based in Sydney and children from all over Australia go through a rigorous audition to apply for membership. Alex Siegers Year 11 has been selected for the Gondwanna Chorale which is for students over 15 years old. Olivia Peck and Jack Begbie have been selected for the elite ensemble – Gondwanna Voices (which Alex has been a member of for several years). Nikkita Alexander and Stella Hannock applied for the first time this year and were selected for the Gondwanna Singers and Gondwanna Juniors respectively. This is a remarkable achievement and all these students deserve our congratulations. They will spend several weeks in Sydney over the Christmas Holidays learning repertoire and participate in performances around Australia through 2010.

Student Leadership Committee
The new Senior Student Leadership Committee was announced at the final Year 12 assembly. The Senior students will join with the existing Middle School team and will meet during Term IV. The Student Leadership Committee represents the student body and assists in improving the school in a number of areas. Each member is responsible for a certain portfolio such as, sport, cultural events, environmental events, publicity and welfare. The Committee also organizes events such as Columba Day and School Socials. Every student in the school is able to approach the Student Leadership Committee members and bring forward ideas or concerns that they have affecting the students in the school. Every student may bring issues to the SLC and come to the meetings to put forward their ideas.
The SLC also offers financial assistance to students who have reached state, national and/or international levels in sports, cultural endeavours and other events such as chess. If any student would like to receive some financial assistance then they are encouraged to write to the Student Leadership Committee requesting help. In Term IV, the SLC is planning on holding a social to help raise funds for this cause.
In term IV the members holding positions in the sport portfolio will assist with the organisation of the House based Volleyball Competition and the Sports Awards evening
