Human Society and Its Environment

The Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) Faculty covers a wide range of Board of Studies courses. We are passionate about educating our students to think critically about the world in which we live and to respond actively and with compassion to a range of social and environmental issues. As part of our teaching and learning program, each Year Group undertakes fieldwork, case studies and either excursions or incursions (such as Medieval Day). We have also developed a number of partnerships with local individuals, organisations and businesses to enhance student learning and engagement and provide access to specialised expertise. Enrichment activities run by our Faculty include Australian Business Week in Year 10, Rotary Global Issues Project in Year 8, Mock Trial Competition in Year 11, National History Challenge and the Australian Geography Competition in Years 7-10.
