A Message from the Head of Secondary

After more than 20 wonderful years at St Columba, it's time for us to celebrate and farewell Ms Tracy Diplock, who will be retiring at the end of this term. While it's hard to see such a beloved member of our community go, we are incredibly grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.

Tracy's journey at SCAS has been one of incredible dedication. She started as a Year 6 teacher, sharing her warmth and wisdom with so many students. Her move to Director of Wellbeing felt completely natural, as she has always placed the care and wellbeing of students at the very heart of her work.

As a Mathematics teacher, Tracy's impact has been outstanding. Her students have achieved fantastic results, including a first place in the State for Standard Mathematics. This is a testament not just to her expertise, but to her special ability to inspire confidence and real capability in every learner.

Tracy's greatest legacy is more than just academic results. It’s in the many students who, because of her, felt truly known and supported in her classroom. It’s in the culture of compassion she helped build across our school. Tracy has been part of so much growth at SCAS. Her influence, built on kindness and genuine care, has truly shaped our community and will be felt for a long time to come.

We know you will join us in wishing Tracy all the very best for this wonderful new chapter. It is so well-deserved after decades of service to young people and their families.

We also wish to inform you that Mr Malcolm Head will be taking leave from the Mathematics Department for the 2026 school year. Malcolm has been a valued member of our teaching staff and has worked in a job-share with Tracy for some years. Their partnership will be greatly missed and we wish Malcolm all the best during his year of leave.
