
The School Council, Principal, and staff of St Columba Anglican School proudly celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2025, our 19th Higher School Certificate cohort. These students have upheld and enhanced our school's rich academic legacy while forging their own path to excellence.
The entire St Columba community applauds the remarkable achievements of the Class of 2025, embodying the school's commitment to excellence in education and holistic development. Our 88 students demonstrated strong academic performance across 45 subjects, with 35 students (39.8%) earning places on the Distinguished Achievers List through 69 Band 6 and E4 results.
The breadth of this success is particularly noteworthy, with 70% of subjects achieving one or more Band 6 or E4 results, demonstrating excellence across academic, creative, and vocational pathways. St Columba Anglican School continues its tradition of academic distinction while nurturing the essential qualities our students need for future success.
Of particular note were Jay Van Gemert and Zalia Rose, each attaining Band 6 or E4 results in four subjects, which represents a remarkable demonstration of sustained excellence across multiple disciplines.
Ashley Livingston placed in the Top Achievers list with a 9th place in NSW in Biology and a 3rd place in NSW in Textiles Technology. Jyden Cater placed 8th in NSW for Construction.
We congratulate our highest achieving students: Ashley Livingston led the cohort with an exceptional ATAR of 98.7, closely followed by Mitchell Baker with an ATAR of 97.85. These stellar individual performances were part of a broader pattern of excellence, with approximately 21% of our students achieving ATARs above 90.

St Columba’s work in Deep Learning continues to yield impressive results. This year, we marked a significant milestone by issuing the Australian Learner Competency Credential to our Year 11 cohort. This credential, jointly issued with the University of Melbourne, recognises the essential Deep Learning skills students need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. It is a powerful testament to our graduates' readiness for life beyond school. This cohort has demonstrated remarkable growth in essential skills: communication, collaboration, character, citizenship, and critical and creative thinking.
Notable achievements include Poppy McIntyre’s selection for the prestigious HSC Music showcase, Encore and Erina Chung and Cassidy Fryer-Allen’s inclusion in the HSC Dance showcase, Callback. Ashley Livingston’s Textiles Major Work will also be included in TexStyle exhibition in 2026. Our Duke of Edinburgh program develops character and citizenship and special congratulations go to our Gold Award recipients, Zoe Oram and Sara Smith. Charlie Ferguson’s representation at the Worldskills Championship in Brisbane highlighted his creative thinking skills as he was awarded a specially created Certificate of Excellence for his outstanding construction work. Matthew Griffith and Georgia Smead’s demonstration of critical and creative thinking have seen them shortlisted to represent Australia and New Zealand at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Arizona. Georgia proceeds on to the finals in Phoenix, Arizona in May 2026.
