Term 2 2026 Sports Information

The SCAS sport team are now accepting nominations for students to represent the school in the HRIS individual sport pathway (HRIS - AICES - CIS - ALL SCHOOLS/PSSA) in 2026. Note these are not nominations for school gala teams. Parents are responsible for transporting students to and from individual representative trials. There will be no SCAS staff supervision.

Students interested in nominating should be prepared to provide evidence of representative history in their sport of choice. Final nominations to HRIS, AICES and CIS will be made by the SCAS sport team, after nominations have closed. Selections are made at the discretion of the Director of Sport.

Primary Co-curricular Sport

Students are welcome to participate in a variety of co-curricular sports in Term 2, commencing Week 1.

Please meet your teacher(s) at the SOLA at 8am on the day of your sport.

  • Mondays - Netball Skills - Years 2-6 - Ms Hamblin and Mrs Oram
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays - Tennis Lessons
  • Fridays - Cross Country Running - Years 2-6 - Mrs Jones and Ms Bibby
  • Fridays - Basketball Skills - Years 3-6 - Mr James and Mrs Conway


Primary Gala Team Trials and Training


HRIS Year 5/6 Basketball Gala Trials (Year 5/6 Boys and Girls)

Trials: Fridays at 8am, starting Week 8
SCAS will send boys and girls teams to represent the school at the HRIS Year 5/6 Basketball Gala on Tuesday 2 June in Broadmeadow. Trials and training will be held on Friday mornings in the IONA stadium. Interested students should meet Mr C at the SOLA.


HRIS Primary Netball Gala (Year 5/6 Boys and Girls) and Netball Schools Cup Galas (Year 5/6 and 3/4 Boys and Girls)
Trials and Training: Mondays at 8am from Week 2

SCAS will send boys and girls teams to represent the school at the HRIS Primary Netball Gala on Friday 12 June at Maitland. Year 5/6 Students and Year 3/4 Students will also compete at the Port Macquarie Netball Schools Cup on 16 June (Year 5/6) and 18 June (Year 3/4).
Trials and training will be held on Monday mornings in the IONA stadium. Interested students should meet Ms Hamblin and Mrs Oram at the SOLA.


Secondary Co-curricular Sport

Students are welcome to participate in a variety of co-curricular sports in Term 2, commencing Week 1. Interested students should meet their teachers in the IONA Stadium.

  • Monday to Wednesday 7.45am - Weights Gym (Year 9-12)
  • Tuesdays 7.40am - Girls Development Football
  • Wednesdays 7.45am - Netball Umpiring/Coaching and Game Development
  • Wednesdays 7.45am - Running Club
