Term 3 2026 Sports Information

The SCAS sport team are now accepting nominations for students to represent the school in the HRIS individual sport pathway (HRIS - AICES - CIS - ALL SCHOOLS/PSSA) in 2026. Note these are not nominations for school gala teams. Parents are responsible for transporting students to and from individual representative trials. There will be no SCAS staff supervision.

Students interested in nominating should be prepared to provide evidence of representative history in their sport of choice. Final nominations to HRIS, AICES and CIS will be made by the SCAS sport team, after nominations have closed. Selections are made at the discretion of the Director of Sport.

Primary Co-curricular Sport

Students are welcome to participate in a variety of co-curricular sports in Term 3, commencing Week 1.

Please meet your teacher(s) at the SOLA at 8am on the day of your sport.

• Tuesdays - Touch Football Skills - Years 3-6 - Mrs Pringle and Mr Ferguson
• Tuesdays and Thursdays - Tennis Lessons
• Fridays - Basketball Skills - Years 3-6 - Mrs Heazelwood and Mrs van den Berg

Primary Gala Team Trials and Training

Netball Schools Cup Galas (Year 5/6 teams)
Trials and Training: Mondays at 8am from Week 2

Following their success at the local gala in June, SCAS will send teams to represent the school at the Netball Schools Cup Regional Finals on Wednesday 19 August at Grant Street Netball Courts. Training will be held on Monday mornings in the IONA stadium. Meet Ms Hamblin and Mrs Oram at the SOLA.

HRIS Primary Athletics Training
Mondays at 8am from Weeks 1-4

Students on the SCAS Primary Athletics Team for HRIS are invited to attend training on Monday mornings from weeks 1-4. Students should meet Mr Barrett at the SOLA.

HRIS Year 5-6 Boys Cricket Gala
Trials and Training: Mondays at 8am from Week 6

SCAS will send a Year 5-6 team to represent the school at the HRIS Primary Boys Cricket Gala from 15-16 October in Newcastle. Training will be held on Monday mornings from week 6. Meet Mr Best and Mr Cockington at the SOLA.

NSW Touch Football Primary Gala
Trials and Training: Tuesdays at 8am from Weeks 3-7

SCAS will send a boys and girls Year 5-6 team to represent the school at the NSW Touch Football Primary Gala at Tuffins Lane Playing Fields on Wednesday 9 September. Trials and training will be held on Tuesday mornings from Week 3. Meet Mrs Pringle and Mr Ferguson at the SOLA.

HRIS Year 5-6 Boys and Girls Football Gala
Trials and Training: Girls Thursdays at 8am from Weeks 1-5; Boys Fridays at 8am from Weeks 1-5

SCAS will send a Year 5-6 boys and girls team to represent the school at the HRIS Primary Football Gala on Tuesday 25 August at Maitland Park. Training will be held on Thursdays (girls) and Fridays (boys) from Weeks 1-5. Meet Mr Barrett/Mrs Jones (girls) and Mr Munro (boys) at the SOLA.

Secondary Co-curricular Sport

Students are welcome to participate in a variety of co-curricular sports in Term 3, commencing Week 1. Interested students should meet their teachers in the IONA Stadium.
